The EngineeringTechnical College of Misan, Department of Engineering of Electromechnical Technologies, organized a scientific trip for its fourth-grade students to the Gas Al-Kahla Power Station in the Al-Kahla District, and were greeted by M.E. ‘ Maher Hashim Jafar. accompanied by engineers of Engineering of Electromechnical department Senior engineer Mortada Mohammed Alhalafi and the students through the engineering officials of the station Engineer (Haider Hashim Ali) Director of the training department and The engineer (Zahra Bashir) that detailed the work of the gas plant system as well as the turboprop unit and how the system’s maintenance was carried out. As well as access to the control unit, MARK 6E program, MCC electrical systems and site control room in generating units
The station is comprised of four generating units GE Frame 9 e 125MW a production capacity of MW 500 College. Students are also briefed on turbine maintenance, gas pressure system, current and voltage converters and excitement files for generation. A project to add a composite cycle to the existing units and a 250MW production card is currently implemented by an investment company and if operated, no fuel is spent on it but depends on exhaust gases from the simple cycle where the plant works excellent and continuously.
