Department of Building and Construction Technology Engineering

Vision, mission and goals

:Vision

The department should be distinguished and pioneering in the field of building and construction technology engineering to supply the labor market with technical engineers capable of keeping pace with the accelerating technology in the field of building and construction.

:the message

Preparing technical engineers who have the ability to use modern techniques and methods in designing, implementing and maintaining all engineering projects and to manage and operate production units specialized in producing construction materials and ready-made construction systems and the ability to inspect building and construction materials of various types.

:Objectives

:Firstly

This major aims to grant a Bachelor of Technical Engineering degree and graduate technical engineering cadres (technical engineer) who have the ability to design, implement and maintain all civil engineering projects.

:secondly

Conducting scientific research in various civil specializations, with a focus on applied research, keeping pace with scientific and technical development

:Third

Opening up to society by conducting scientific courses in the field of specialization and continuing education courses to benefit workers in the field of building and construction at various levels.

:Fourthly

Providing engineering consultations for various engineering projects and preparing engineering designs for various projects

Job description for the graduate

:Firstly

Design and supervision of the implementation of all works related to engineering projects, such as buildings, bridges, roads, airports, tunnels, dams, hydraulic installations, manufactured building units, and prestressed concrete units.

secondly

Conducting all field, on-site and laboratory tests (destructive and non-destructive) on all construction materials and soil, reading their results and matching them with standard specifications.

:Third

Reading, preparing and implementing structural and architectural maps, calculating their quantities and costs, and concluding contracts for projects, using the computer extensively.

:Fourthly

Organizing and managing various construction projects using modern methods, using computers, and familiarity with professional methods in construction work, in addition to studying construction machines in terms of their productivity, operating costs, and methods of using them.

:Fifth

Dealing with modern construction materials and new locally available alternatives and additives in concrete works and soil stabilization works for important projects

:Sixthly

Maintaining buildings, roads and other projects and controlling environmental pollution as a problem of the times

:Seventh

Extensive use of modern surveying equipment to prepare plans and topographical profiles, divide lands, determine road routes, and draw longitudinal and cross sections.
