The College of Engineering Technology in Maysan held a scientific workshop entitled “Analysis and Discovery of the Root Cause between Academic Outputs and the Labor Market” in the Continuing Education Hall, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Aziz Muhammad, and a number of college members.

The workshop, which was lectured by M.M. Hussein Sadiq Latif, aimed to define the gap between academic outputs and the labor market and identify strengths and weaknesses in engineering education.

The workshop addressed several axes, including the current engineering reality in Iraq, the root causes of the gap, and proposed solutions.

The workshop came out with several recommendations, including improving academic curricula to match the needs of the labor market, strengthening partnerships between universities and companies to provide vocational training, and developing continuous training programs for graduates.
