When we seek scientifically to document the history of science, we must distinguish between the history of science and the history of past events of people and civilizations, because it always consists of facts that can be verified, tested, and deduced if the same conditions are available. As we document two common histories, science and people, then we must follow the method and narrate the facts according to their main axis, because not all scientific facts are of equal importance and significance when the scientific historian deals with them through analysis and interpretation in any era of the ages, hence the importance of documenting the history of science becomes clear. And personalities and their history, as it is impossible to separate science from its history. The Southern Technical University, which was formed on August 14, 2014, has become, with its rich donation, an important address in the Iraqi universities for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It was generous in bearing the scientific and ethical responsibility in bringing up a scientific and technical generation that keeps pace with the requirements of the labor market and encourages and supports youth energies. Through many training programmes.

On the ninth anniversary of the founding of our university, asking God to grant success to everyone who seeks to enhance the scientific level of the university, through research and development, and spreading creativity and excellence. Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Alaa Farid Abdel-Ahad, stated that the university, since its establishment in August 2014, has set, among its priorities, the promotion of the scientific level and expanded a lot in this field, through the active participation of its professors in various scientific activities and at all levels. It also encouraged researchers to Their research is within the requirements of the labor market, so that its impact is effective and direct..
مAssistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Salem Thamer explained that celebrating the establishment of the university is an annual tradition that indicates the extent that the university has achieved during its scientific and cultural career. Hence, this year came to confirm the university’s mission in adopting the scientific vision in planning, studying and following up in the implementation of its programs.
The university, through what it believes in in terms of the energies of its professors, affiliates, and students, has immediately begun to line its goals, which showed in its first lines that the dear love of Iraq and loyalty to it, the university aspires to:
Proficiency in all scientific and research fields.
Enhancing the capabilities of graduates and supporting them after graduation.
Building bridges of communication between the university and society and embodying the concept of a productive university.
Creating an educational environment supportive of knowledge and innovation.
– Flexibility and accountability at work to raise the level of performance and continuous improvement of all activities.
– Supporting state institutions in the fields of training, development and capacity building.
– Leadership in quality and its applications and work to spread its culture in society.
In conclusion, we cannot fail to record the great pride and appreciation for everyone who contributed to the achievement of what has been achieved, starting with the first president of the university, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who laid the foundations for many of what was achieved for the university in terms of planning, building and commendable work.
We also record with great pain the passing of Prof. Dr. Refaat Muhammad Al-Sangari, who passed away due to an incurable illness, where he held the position of Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, as well as Prof. Dr. Abdel-Wahhab Abdel-Razzaq Sultan, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, who left the position after his illness.
Finally… We can only extend to all the affiliates of our university, deans, professors, associates and students, our warmest congratulations on the anniversary of the founding of the university, hoping for them more giving to serve our great race.
