The symposium, in which M. M. Ali Karim Shajar lectured, in the presence of a number of college students, aimed to promote friendly dialogue between parents and children, and provide advice and guidance to them to prevent them from falling into erroneous and morally harmful practices via the Internet.

In it, he touched on several axes, including the concept of electronic crime as every harmful act committed against an individual or group of individuals with the intent to offend them or inflict material or moral harm on them through the use of electronic media such as computers, mobile devices, information transmission networks and other means of electronic communication. He mentioned the crimes that involve under the shadow of electronic crime, the most prominent of which is what is known as electronic extortion, which has increased in recent times. The third axis dealt with the measures and means to be taken to reduce and eliminate this crime. Among these means is to call on the legislative authority to:
