The Engineering Technical College of Misan arranged an awareness-raising seminar on drug control and drug damage to society in cooperation with the Affairs Directorate of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in Misan. In the presence of the College’s staff and students. Captain Ahmed Abdul-Kadhim Ramadan and Commissioner Kadhim Abd al-Razaq attended it.
Drugs are a group of substances that cause addiction and poison the nervous system and call the word (Narcotics) which makes the mind goes and ignore it,
contain chemicals that lead to sleepiness, sleep or lack of consciousness. Drug use may lead to so-called (addiction syndrome) This syndrome is a cluster of physiological, behavioural and cognitive that develop after repeated substance use. It usually includes a strong desire to continue doing so despite harmful consequences until it reaches the accreditation stage on them and the appearance of withdrawal symptoms.
Meaning of addiction:- is a compelling desire to continue using or obtaining the substance by any means, with a tendency to increase the dose used; This causes psychological and physical dependence and a harmful effect on the individual and community.
Types of drugs-:
Many drugs and their various forms are dangerous, both of natural origin (khat, opium, morphine, cannabis, cocaine, etc.), or artificial source (heroin, amphetamines, etc.), and also narcotic pills and volatile solvents
